GHANA, NIGERIA JUDICIAL OFFICIALS IN TANZANIA FOR BENCHMARKING

Eight Senior judicial officials with the Judiciary of Ghana and Nigeria arrived in the country today dated June 1, 2025 for benchmarking of various reforms the Judiciary of Tanzania has so far attained.

The delegation, led by Ghana Court of Appeal Justice and Member of the E-Judgment Committee, Hon. Jenniffer Abena Dadzie touched at the Julius Nyerere International Airport starting at around 03.00am up to 9.00am and were received by Judiciary of Tanzania’s Protocol Officer, Swalehe Mwindadi and Multi-professional Salum Tawan.

Apart from Justice Dadzie other six Ghanaians delegation comprised Deputy Judicial Secretary, Incorporation of Technologies in Court Work, Ms Patricia Naa Afarley Dadson and Director, Monitoring and Evaluation Department and Coordination of the E-Judgment Secretariat, Mr. Papa Kwaku Maisie

The rest are M and E Staff and Assistant Coordinator, E-Judgment Secretariat, Ms Doris Benson, M and E Staaf and highest uploader of Judgment to Ghalii portal, Ms Jemilatu Chilala and ICT Officer and Manager for the e-Judgment Secretariat, Mr Nii Mensah Ashrifie

The delegation from the Institute of National Judicial Institute Nigeria arrived at the airport at the same time and were escorted to Slip Way Hotel for night rest after completing all entry procedures. They include Director of Studies, Dr. Baroon Ahmad and Head of Information and Communication Technology and Management of Data, Isma’eel

According to the benchmarking programme, the delegations will travel from Dar es Salaam to the capital city of Dodoma on June 2, 2025 using SGR train and later visit the Magufuri City at Mtumba area. While at the City, the delegation will pay a courtesy call to the Office of the Attorney General.

On the third day, that is June 3, 2025, the delegation will move to the Headquarters of the Judiciary of Tanzania and pay courtesy to the Principal Judge of the High Court of Tanzania, Hon. Dr. Mustapher Mohamed Siyani.

Thereafter, the delegation will visit the office of the Chief Court Administrator and Chief Registrar and tour the Headquarters’ building and offices, in particular the Judiciary of Tanzania Situation Room.

While at the world classic building, the delegation will receive some presentations on overview of related electronic system managed by the Judiciary of Tanzania and electronic case management system and statistics.

Thereafter, the visitors will receive presentation on introduction to the TanzLii, case management, statistics from TanzLii-monitoring and evaluation.

On the fourth day, that is June 4, 2025, the delegation will also be at the Judiciary of Tanzania Headquarters to continue with the discussion of TanzLii best practices and on another topic related to judicial Training Institute and Judicial Analysis.

Members of the delegation are expected to wind up the visit on Thursday dated June 5, 2025 and depart from their respective homes.

Members of the delegation  from Ghana and Nigeria-above and below- exchange views at the VIP Lounge at Julius Nyerere International Airport after arriving in the country for benchmarking of various reforms made by the Judiciary of Tanzania aimed at timely justice dispensation.
